Facebook and School Marketing

Sunday, July 12, 2009
Facebook and other Social Networking sites may be beneficial for school marketing in your particular circumstances.

A school representative would need to firstly build an account and then add the school to the Facebook site. There may be a number of pages built by different groups eg Past Students Association, Parents and Friends Association, Mothers' Club...

The site to visit is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

On the homepage select: Local and then Education.

From here you would develop the profile, including as much information as your school would like made open to the public, by following the prompts on the pages provided. You could also restrict certain information to your selected group, of say, past students.

This is particularly good for getting your message to a wide audience, or a local audience, which is aware of the Facebook membership.
